Custom gunpla built for a discord group build: the RX-78 TR-1 Gundam ‘EXEC’
A small contingent of Earth Federation engineers, scientists, and officers started a new weapons testing group following the aftermath of Operation Stardust in UC 0083. While short lived as they would soon be swallowed up during the reorganization of the Federation Forces following the founding of the Titans, they pushed out several mobile suit designs and weapon systems which would go on to influence further designs.
Going off of recovered data and materials from Operation Stardust, Test Rig One was built off the proven effectiveness of the RX-78 platform and the units produced by the Gundam Development Project. The core mobile suit was designed as a high performance unit that could exchange weapon loadouts and modular equipment configurations through a system designated ‘EXEC’ ( Experimental Exchangeable Equipment Configurations), allowing for the testing of many weapons systems in multiple test environments without needing to devote a large amount of resources or their budget.
The above pictured configuration introduced ‘cannon boosters’ large beam cannons with propellant tanks and thrusters built around the already large mass, partially to compensate for lost mobility, partially as an attempt to further the concept of of the sturm booster. Also included are a massive pair of twin gatling cannons mounted on movable sub-arms. Taken from the GP03 are a set of tail binders to help improve mobility with all the added mass.
Built with parts from HGUC GP03S, HGUC Gerbera Tetra, HGUC Hazel, HG Heavyarms Custom, HGBC Amazing Weapon Binder, and Kotobukiya MSG thrusters. Painted with Gundam Color MS White, Zeon’s MS Grey, and MS Phantom Grey, and Mr. Color Red, Character Yellow, and Character Blue.
